The City Hall of Caxias do Sul, through the Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS), is implementing a call center for scheduling appointments at the Basic Health Units (UBSs) in the city. The project should start operating in the next few weeks, initially in about six UBSs, and then be expanded to the others.
The telephone exchange will operate in the SMS building, with exclusive lines for this purpose. Citizens will be able to call to make appointments that can be scheduled, such as monitoring of chronic diseases, return to show exams and other situations.
What are the benefits
The purpose of the telephone switchboard is to facilitate the population’s access to basic health services, providing more comfort and agility. In addition, it is expected that the new appointment scheduling system will help to improve flows in the UBSs, reducing queues and spontaneous demands.
“This center will bring more comfort to citizens who need it. Next, we are going to advance in the telemedicine service, to provide even more possibilities for serving the population”, highlights Mayor Adiló Didomenico.
The municipal secretary of Health, Daniele Meneguzzi, says that the proposal aims to qualify and humanize care even more. “The civil servants who will participate in this initial stage are undergoing training and we intend to start the project as soon as possible”, she assures.
