In response to the impacts caused by the passage of an extratropical cyclone, the Family Health Units (USFs) Getúlio Vargas and Palmeiras are mobilizing to provide assistance to the affected people. This weekend, these units will be open at special hours, offering support and care to local communities.
On Saturday, July 1st, the USF Getúlio Vargas, located at Rua Bruno Werner Storck, n° 147, in the Canudos neighborhood, will be open from 1 pm to 5 pm. On Sunday, July 2, it will be the turn of USF Palmeira, located at Rua Nazaré, nº 215, in the Santo Afonso neighborhood, to open its facilities, also from 1 pm to 5 pm. It is worth mentioning that USF Palmeira already performs services on Saturdays at normal hours.
The main activities carried out in these units will be updating the community’s basic vaccination schedule. Priority will be given to the application of immunizers against diphtheria, tetanus, flu and covid, with a view to ensuring the protection of the population.
To receive the vaccination, it is essential that individuals present an identity document with a photo, proof of residence in Novo Hamburgo or the municipality’s SUS card. Additionally, for those wishing to receive the Covid vaccine, proof of vaccination for previous doses will need to be presented.
In the case of people who have lost their personal documents due to the flood, it is important to contact the servers of the units so that each situation is assessed individually and appropriate measures are taken.
The special opening of the USFs Getúlio Vargas and Palmeira demonstrates the commitment of the health team to helping residents of the neighborhoods most affected by the flood. This initiative is an example of the ongoing commitment to guarantee assistance and care to the population in times of adversity.
