On June 28, Sapiranga holds the 14th Municipal Social Assistance Conference, an event open to the community interested in discussing and learning more about the topics under debate. This year’s main topic is “Rebuilding the SUAS: the SUAS we have and the SUAS we want”.
The Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) is the management model adopted across the country for social assistance actions. This system is designed and implemented in collaboration between federal, state and municipal governments, in partnership with civil society. It guarantees adequate access to services for millions of Brazilians of all age groups.

The 14th Municipal Social Assistance Conference will take place at the headquarters of the Association of Retired Workers and Pensioners of Sapiranga (ATAPES), located at Rua Cândido Rondon, 277, Centenário neighborhood. During the morning, the meeting will address the general theme, while discussions on thematic axes will take place during the afternoon.

Axis 1 – Financing: Financing and budget of a mandatory nature, as an instrument for managing the commitment and responsibilities of federal entities to guarantee social assistance rights, contemplating the regional specificities of the country.
Axis 2 – Social Control: Qualification and structuring of Social Control instances with democratic and participatory guidelines.
Axis 3 – Articulation between segments: How to enhance Social Participation in SUAS?
Axis 4 – Services, Programs and Projects: Universalization of access and integration of services and rights in SUAS.
Axis 5 – Benefit and income transfer: The importance of social assistance benefits and the right to guaranteed income as social protection in the reconfiguration of SUAS.
