A 23-year-old girl died after becoming ill during training at a gym in Mogi das Cruzes this Monday (19). Her father told the police that his daughter had no health problems or, at least, was unaware of it.
According to the incident report, Milena de Medeiros Silva was exercising at a gym and, at around 5 pm, began to convulse. The other students, including nurses, performed cardiac massage on the young woman until the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) arrived.

According to reports to the police, upon arriving at the gym, the team of rescuers assessed that Milena was in cardiorespiratory arrest and performed several resuscitation maneuvers. The victim was taken to Santa Casa, where death was confirmed at 6:45 pm.
Still according to the police report, the alleged cause was acute myocardial infarction and/or pulmonary thromboembolism.
The case was registered as suspicious death and sudden death with no apparent determinant cause.
The body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for tests to determine the cause of death. Until the morning of this Tuesday (20), the body had not yet been released from the IML for the wake and burial.
