Dupla Gomesninow, formed by artists Gabriel Gomes and Carina Ninow, presents on June 23 and 24, at 8 pm, the show “Esperando Rodå”, which portrays the lives of two street jugglers, their challenges and achievements. The play, which has little dialogue and a lot of body language, uses circus equipment and extreme sports, such as the BMX Flatland bicycle and the cyr wheel, to create metaphors and symbols of the characters’ journeys.
The show is the result of an artistic residency held at the Polo Carioca de Circo Casa Escola Benjamim (Teatro de Anônimo/RJ) and was selected in the Occupation Notice for Performing Arts Shows CHC 2023. Tickets are on sale on the Sympla website.
Dupla Gomesninow is the only one in Brazil that takes BMX Flatland, a balance sport with a bicycle on the ground, to the theatrical stages. In addition, they were the winners of the 1st Show Horizontes Circenses, held in May this year, with the wheel number cyr, a modality that consists of spinning and balancing inside a large metallic wheel.
The show “Esperando Rodå” is a tribute to street art and the ability to reinvent oneself in the face of adversity. With humor and sensitivity, Dupla Gomesninow invites the public to embark on this two-wheeled journey through the world of dreams.
