The State Coordination of Protection and Civil Defense of Rio Grande d Sul currently has teams in operation throughout the State, mainly in the Serra and North Coast regions, which were the areas most affected by the heavy rains that occurred since yesterday.
To request support or help, the emergency numbers are:

- Military Brigade: 190
Here are some safety tips provided by the Civil Defense in case of risk of flooding:
- Avoid moving to affected regions.
- If it’s safe, stay home.
- If you live in a risk area, leave the area.
- Separate important documents and pack them in plastic bags.
- Avoid crossing water by car or on foot.
- If you find yourself isolated in an unsafe location, immediately contact the Fire Department at 193.
Meteorological information and risk monitoring were transmitted to municipalities so that they could articulate and guide the population over the last week. Additionally, alerts have been sent within the last 24 hours.
On Thursday night (15/6), teams were providing support to the municipality of Maquiné, where the river level rose rapidly and left some people stranded at certain points. In Caraá, the river also rose, causing many disturbances. A team is trying to access the city to provide support. The teams are working in coordination with members of the Military Fire Department and the Military Brigade, especially with the Environmental Command, which has vessels.
At the moment, the priority is to serve people in vulnerable situations. Therefore, bulletins with more accurate information, including the number of people affected and the damage caused, will be released in due course.
