Havaianas announced the worldwide launch of its collection in collaboration with actress Barbie Ferreira, marking the brand’s first partnership with an international celebrity.
Barbie, descended from Brazilians and raised in the United States, is an icon of Generation Z and represents the style and aspirations of a generation that seeks to connect globally through values such as freedom, dialogue and diversity. These ideals make her the perfect partner for Havaianas in creating an exclusive collection.
Inspired by her Brazilian roots, vintage elements from Rio de Janeiro from the 60s and 70s, as well as Brazilian architecture and interior design, Barbie was given complete creative freedom to lead the collaboration and design the new prints.
“For me, Havaianas is an iconic brand that I have used since I was a kid. It represents a lot of my culture, my family and Brazil in general. Being a Brazilian-American has shaped my heart, my art and my fashion endlessly. Having the opportunity to create for a company that represents my family and myself in a nostalgic way is incredibly exciting, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve created,” says Barbie.

The Havaianas x Barbie Ferreira collection, designed by Barbie herself, features nine models of flip-flops and slides, featuring different colors and prints to create looks inspired by Brazilian culture, with references to vintage art, sculptures, textures and exuberant vegetation.
