Environment Week is an opportunity to reinforce the importance of practicing sustainable actions and the impact that our daily attitudes have on the present and future of the place where we live. This year, the event starts next Monday, the 5th, on World Environment Day. Until Friday, the 9th, the Municipality of Novo Hamburgo will promote a series of activities focused on the theme for the community, in different places in the city, coordinated by the Municipal Environment Secretariat (Semam).
The opening of the week will be at Casa das Artes, on the 5th, at 7.30 pm, with a performance by Coral Catavida. The program also includes the distribution of seedlings, an adoption fair, lectures on water savings and final disposal of waste, an exhibition of photos and recycled products, theater, guided walks and much more (check out locations and times below). There will also be the painting of the entrance wall of Henrique Luis Roessler Park (Parcão) with the schools of the Guardians of the Parcão Project.
“It will be a productive week and one of great awareness, in which we will spend five days with all the attention turned to the environment”, points out the head of Semam, Ráfaga Fontoura.
The secretary also makes a special invitation for Thursday, the 8th, Corpus Christi holiday. “The forecast is for a day with good weather, which makes it possible for families to visit the Parcão, use the collection points for electronics and cooking oil, and even witness a playful activity with Herta and take advantage of all the activities designed especially for the family. Hamburg population”, invites Fontoura.
