(ANSA) – BRASÍLIA, 24 MAG – The government announced this Tuesday (23) that it is investigating four patients suspected of contamination by the H5N1 avian flu in the state of Espírito Santo, while another 38 occurrences were ruled out.
The Ministry of Health informed that the Fiocruz Institute will analyze the blood samples of the four cases. Of the 38 discarded patients, 34 are residents of Espírito Santo, and four, in Rio de Janeiro.

According to the Ministry of Health, most negative patients are employees of the Fazendinha park in Espírito Santo, where a contaminated bird was found.
On Monday (22), the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock decreed a state of zoosanitary emergency for 180 days across the country due to eight cases of contaminated wild birds in Espírito Santo and Rio.
To strengthen surveillance, an Emergency Operations Center will be set up. (ANSA).
