Gillette Venus recognizes that the intimate area is one of the most delicate areas of the female body and that the skin and hair in this area require special care during epilation. Therefore, the brand launched a specific collection for the female intimate area, which aims to improve the waxing experience with products to exfoliate, protect and shave this region.
According to surveys carried out by the brand, 78% of Latin American women shave their intimate area almost twice a week, but the experience is still unsatisfactory for 85% of them for various reasons.
Dermatologist Dr. Mariana Veloso explains that the intimate skin is more delicate and thin than that of other regions of the body, containing a high blood flow and more nerve endings, which increases the possibility of irritation. Also, the hair in this area is twice as thick as the hair on the legs and grows in a curly fashion, which can cause ingrown hairs.
The survey also revealed that 70% of women shave with soap and water, without special care, and that the frequency of waxing is greater than that of men. To help women feel more comfortable in their own skin, Gillette Venus has launched four new products, including a gentle scrub, a 2-in-1 intimate soap and shaving gel, and two new products for the intimate area.
The two new devices were specially developed to care for and protect the sensitive skin of the groin area against irritation from depilation and ingrown hairs, in their disposable and refill versions. One of them has a protective barrier, blades with high cutting power and lubrication before and after, to minimize the possibility of irritation, and allows you to keep the handle, so that you only need to change the refill. The disposable one has, in addition to the protective barrier, a rubberized and rounded handle and a small pivoting head, perfect for difficult areas. All products are dermatologically and gynecologically tested, and have a balanced pH for the intimate area.
