Drivers who frequent the center of Caxias do Sul will feel the increase in rotary parking values from next Tuesday, May 2nd.
The announcement was made today (25) by the Municipal Department of Transit, Transport and Mobility (SMTTM) informing that the values of the Regulated Rotating Parking (ERR) tariff, currently under the concession contract of the company Rek Parking, will be readjusted from the next week.
Today, rates for the “Green Zone” cost R$2.00 an hour; while the value for the “Blue Zone” is R$ 4.00 for the same period. As of next Tuesday (05/02), prices will increase to R$ 2.20 in the “Green Zone” and R$ 4.40 in the “Blue Zone”. The maximum length of stay in vacancies is two hours.
Since the installation of new parking meters since the first half of last year, users now have advantages when paying the fare. Currently, the system accepts PIX and credit and debit cards, in addition to payments via the Rek Pay app. SMTTM reinforces that the community of Caxias do Sul benefits from the return of these values. Currently, 33% of fare resources are allocated to the Social Assistance Foundation (FAS) and the Municipal Transport Fund (Funtran), whose resources are used to subsidize public transport fares.
The readjustment also affects the Post Use Fee (TPU). In cases of expired ticket, change of area or incorrect use, the TPU value will be R$ 13.20 in the “Green Zone” and R$ 26.40 for the “Blue Zone”. Vehicles caught without a ticket or with the same fraudulent ticket are subject to TPU in the amount of R$ 22.00 for the “Green Zone” and R$ 44.00 for the “Blue Zone”. The deadline for regularizing the TPU is five working days. After the deadline, the driver may be fined.
Rates for Regulated Rotating Parking also benefit the low-income community. People regularized with the Cadastro Único benefit from the purchase of tickets through the resources. In the first three months of 2023, 53,302 tickets were acquired. The total amount invested in tickets for people in situations of social vulnerability and in subsidy to users who use public transport from the districts, in the first quarter of the year, was more than R$ 422 thousand.
Rates for Regulated Rotating Parking have not been readjusted since July 2021.
