The Municipal Secretariat for Culture (SMC) of Canoas opened the Book Week this Monday (17) with the launch of the e-book “II Collection of Microstories from the Municipal Public Library João Palma da Silva”.
Access to the e-book is online and free of charge, in the online catalog of the Public Library through this link.
According to the Assistant Secretary for Culture, Amanda Bordignon, access to reading can be understood as a social right arising from the right to education. “Through mastery of reading, it becomes possible to minimally ensure the full development of the person, his preparation for the exercise of citizenship and his qualification for work”.
In this context, the Secretariat of Culture, with the second edition of the Coletânea, inserts itself in the qualification and development of new writers. “Through literature we managed to transform people and it is with this focus that we have been developing several actions for the training and development of our Canoas”, highlights the assistant secretary.
The collection, made up of 29 short stories written by people from Canoa aged at least 12 years, was made through a public notice, divided into two categories: from 12 to 17 years old and from 18 years old.
The initiative is one of the actions that integrates the Municipal Book, Reading and Literature Plan (PMLLL) of Canoas. The plan outlines as fundamental principles reading and writing as the main means of disseminating culture and knowledge, democratizing access to reading and encouraging literary production through workshops, seminars, courses and literary competitions.
