The Municipal Department of Urban Cleaning (DMLU) of Porto Alegre announced the locations of the Bota-Fora project from Tuesday (18) to Thursday (20). The action takes place from 8 am.
Appliances, broken furniture, mattresses, among other bulky objects can be arranged. This prevents irregularly discarded material from clogging streams, storm drains and causing flooding. The project serves regions in a situation of social vulnerability, benefiting around 200 communities.
The recommendation to residents is that the materials be made available in front of the residences the night before, or by 7:30 am on the day of Bota-Fora. The service is publicized through posters placed in health units, markets, schools, bars and neighborhood associations.
In addition to Bota-Fora, the disposal of these materials can be done directly at one of the DMLU’s Destiny Units (UDC). UDCs, also called ecopointsreceive wood, old furniture and debris and are strategically distributed throughout the city.
