On the afternoon of this Thursday (14th), the Extraordinary Secretary for Digital Inclusion and Support for Equity Policies of the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Seidape-RS), Lisiane Lemos, visited the Pelotas Technology Park. During the visit to the ecosystem, the executive board, technical-scientific board, Tecnosul’s board of directors (Consad), universities and local resident companies presented the advances and developments of projects carried out in recent years to the portfolio holder, including initiatives such as Innovation Cycle Path, the Hub of Innovation in Health and Biotechnology, the Create-Lab and the Sustainable Park, among others.
In addition to participating in a meeting with members of the technology park, Lisiane also took a brief tour of the space. During her visit, she visited the Eládio Dieste Memorial, Senatec of the Senac Pelotas College, Conectar incubators of the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel) and Ciemsul of the Catholic University of Pelotas (UCPel), in addition to visiting the future Hélice Incubator of the Instituto Federal Sul- rio-grandense (IFSul), the Coworking Co.place, the company Studio Sigales and the laboratory Importa-Lab.
“Visiting the Pelotas Parque Tecnológico brought me a lot of what has been my north in the government in these first 60 days, which is the fact that there are a lot of amazing things happening that I still don’t know about. So I think I have this mission to communicate. Several ideas we saw here have everything to do with the secretariat, so it’s a lot about how we bring cadence, how we can prioritize and tell this story to others, really make the population see the technological park with the relevance it has ”, highlighted the Secretary.
During the conversation with Lisiane about the site’s potential, Consad’s vice-president, Vinicius Campos, highlighted the Pelotas Technological Park management model and the possible initiatives that may arise from a future partnership. “The park was born from a different construction, with the support of the Pelotas City Hall, and has an association model that brings together all those involved. We have great expectations in relation to the guidelines that are being worked on at the secretariat, and certainly what we are presenting today can further boost the park’s approach to management”, emphasized Campos.
The Pelotas Technological Park’s mission is to encourage and promote innovation, entrepreneurship and the generation of high added value businesses in the region. With more than 40 resident companies, the park has laboratories, incubators, accelerators, a research and innovation center, as well as areas for events and socializing. The initiative is maintained by Tecnosul, a consortium of municipalities that seeks the development of the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul.
In addition to Consad’s vice-president, several other participants were present to accompany Lisiane’s visit to Pelotas Parque Tecnológico. Among them were the technical-scientific director of the PPT, Edgar Mattarredona; Candy Valley’s vice-president, Raul de Castro Torma; the director of institutional articulation of the PPT, João Carlos Deschamps; counselor and member of the Edmundo Gastal Agricultural Research and Development Support Foundation (FAPEG), Fátima Husein; the councilor and UCPel representative, Fábio Neves; the vice-president of Consad management 2019-2022, Felipe Marques; the executive director of the Municipality of Pelotas, Maurício Martins; the founders of Dimensio, Beatriz Gioielli and Gabriel Maciel; the PPT adviser, Jessica Correa; and the executive director of the PPT, Rosâni Ribeiro.
