Santa Maria holds the 31st edition of the Feira do Peixe Vivo from April 4th to 7th to provide the opportunity to buy fish, traditionally consumed on Good Friday.
The fair will be in 10 locations in the Municipality, with the Gare as the central point (see locations below). From Tuesday to Thursday, the stands will be open from 7am to 7pm. On Friday, it will be from 8 am to noon. Fish of nine different species will be sold, with prices ranging from R$ 14.80 to R$ 23.80 per kilo.
At the Gare, there will be a fish cleaning point for consumers who prefer to take their cleaned fish home. Thus, fish with up to 2 kg, the cost is R$ 8, and above 2 kg, the cost is R$ 10 for cleaning.
The Live Fish Fair is organized by the Association of Pisciculturists of Santa Maria (Apism) and partners, and has the support of the Municipality of Santa Maria, which will also supervise the stands through the Secretariat for Rural Development.
