The mayor of Passo Fundo, Pedro Almeida, confirmed, this Tuesday (28), the publication of a notice for the concession of public areas to attract new economic investments.
According to the mayor, the objective of the measure is to expand the number of industrial enterprises installed in the municipality, encouraging the development of productive activities and increasing opportunities for generating employment and income. “In addition to guaranteeing improvements in the infrastructure of our districts, qualifying issues such as access to traffic routes, we are also working with the objective of attracting new industrial undertakings in areas dedicated to this purpose”, stated Pedro.
According to the Secretary of Economic Development, Diorges Oliveira, in this first batch of concessions, the City Hall will bid for four public areas. In the public notice, an interval of 15 days is foreseen between each bidding process, aiming to guarantee that the analysis of each area is carried out respecting all the legal parameters guided by the public notice. “These are public areas destined to attract new investments, because they are located in regions of the municipality that already have other developments installed. Our main objective is to ensure that the lots will be granted to companies that have projects that, among other initiatives, foresee an increase in job creation”, commented Oliveira.
The secretary also explained that, among the areas that will be granted to the private sector, there are lands with improvements and others without construction infrastructure, making it possible for entrepreneurs to install different types of industrial enterprises. “Our expectation is that these areas can boost the economy and the productive sector, enabling the opening of new jobs and contributing to the increase in employability of people from Passo Fundo”, he reinforced.
Also according to the mayor, the notice for the concession of public areas is part of the actions of the Acelera Passo Fundo program, launched in the first month of his government, in 2021, with the intention of encouraging the development of the local economy. “With this program we have already managed to achieve good results: we are the fourth municipality in the state in terms of employment generation and the sixth economy in Rio Grande do Sul, for example. In addition, initiatives such as Café com Emprego and Escola das Profissões train and integrate people into the job market, being important axes of our management”, summarized Pedro.
The concession notice is available on the Passo Fundo City Hall website.
