The Riograndense Rice Institute (Irga) acquired, through an Electronic Auction, seven harvesters and 10 Yanmar tractors, in a negotiation that totaled R$ 5.43 million. The state holds about 70% of all grain produced nationally.
The Electronic Auction was held in November 2022 when Sol Soluções Yanmar was the concessionaire chosen for the sale of seven YH 880 model harvesters, developed especially for harvesting rice, with its platform also adapted for corn, soybean, beans and wheat.
The official delivery took place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of March, during the “Field Day”, held by Irga, at the Rice Experimental Station (EEA) in Cachoeirinha. The event was attended by 464 people, including producers, a delegation from Paraguay and researchers from the US faculty, University of Georgia, professors James Buck and Zenglu Li.
The State Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development was represented by the Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, Márcio Madalena. The seven harvesters will be distributed among the Experimental Rice Stations located in Cachoeirinha (with two machines, one of which is specific for the production of genetic seed to be made available to sowers), Cachoeira do Sul, Camaquã, Uruguaiana and Santa Vitória do Palmar.
The municipality of Hulha Negra, which should host a regional research station for the institute, will also receive the equipment. While it is not finished, the harvester will remain in Cachoerinha.
“We are very pleased, as the machines will meet the proposal to modernize our manufacturing park, providing more agility and top quality technology to our producers, according to their needs”, completes the president of Irga, Rodrigo Warlet Machado. The technical director of the institute, Flavia Tomita, also accompanied the ceremony.
The first official dealership of the Yanmar brand in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Sol Soluções is focused on the agribusiness segment, offering a varied portfolio of products, with emphasis on the line of tractors, where rural producers are its main target audience. Headquartered in Caxias do Sul and units in Vacaria and Montenegro, Sol Soluções Yanmar holds the exclusive concession for the line of excavators throughout Rio Grande do Sul.
