Conducted by maestro Manfredo Schmiedt, the concerts will have the Bossa Nova movement as their main theme, with a selection of songs with a historical focus and a sampling of the different periods and styles that are contained within the genre. Arrangements written especially for the formation of the UCS Orquestra by the musician Pedrinho Figueiredo, who is also a soloist in the presentations, will be interspersed with texts that will illustrate the different points of connection between Bossa Nova and Rio Grande do Sul.
The repertoire selected for the concerts includes fifteen compositions that are part of the history of Brazilian Popular Music, especially the Bossa Nova movement. The program includes classics signed by Tom Jobim such as “Samba do Avião”, “Águas de Março”, “Triste” and “Wave”, the latter in partnership with Vinícius de Moraes. The repertoire also includes “Chega de Saudade”, “Girl from Ipanema” and “Outra Vez” by this same composer duo.
The presentations will be surrounded by care with infrastructure and accessibility.
