A week of events and actions aimed at women. This is what Canoas pra Elas proposes, organized by the Coordination of Policies for Women, which integrates the new Special Secretariat for Transversal Policies. From the 8th to the 15th of March, the city of Canoas will be filled with moments that enhance and empower the people of Canoas, demonstrating that they can be free, with autonomy and dignity.
According to the coordinator of Policies for Women, Vani Piovesan, the activities seek to encourage more equality and opportunities. “These are actions that Canoas has been carrying out on a daily basis and that we are going to intensify in this women’s month. We want a city without violence, with rights and in defense of life. We have a fundamental role in combating and preventing violence against women. We are focused and increasingly integrated in our main objective: to make women leave the situation of violence, be free, have autonomy and a dignified life”, she highlights.

The Secretariat for Governance and Combating the Pandemic, after the Administrative Modernization Plan (PMA), changed to the Special Secretariat for Transversal Policies.
Within this, the Assistant Secretariat for Women came to be called the Coordination of Policies for Women. The actions and works remain the same, seeking to promote equality, combat violence against women and guarantee dignity for all Canoenses.
