The term “digital nomad” refers to people who share a philosophy of life in which a more flexible routine is chosen, combining work and travel.
With the aim of promoting and positioning Gramado as a favorable environment for this new lifestyle, the Secretariat of Tourism started a project that highlights the characteristics considered relevant by digital nomads, such as welcoming the community, pleasant climate, security, pulsating cultural life, among others.
Several studies show that, in addition to enjoying traditional tourism services, this new type of tourist uses local services, is open to cultural exchange and seeks a more intense connection with the city visited, thus generating greater economic and cultural benefits for the destination. .
The Secretary of Tourism, Rosa Helena Volk emphasizes the relevance of the project. “Digital nomadism is a worldwide trend and this project is in line with actions for the internationalization of Gramado. It is a market on the rise and our city has all the conditions to receive even more of this type of tourist”, she says.
