On the 25th and 26th of February, Capão da Canoa will host the Motocross Summer Cup, at the Motocross Track, located next to Unisc, in Capão Novo. The competition will bring together athletes from all over Rio Grande do Sul. It is organized by Zanela Eventos, supervised by the Gaucho Motorcycling Federation and supported by the City Hall, through the Department of Culture, Sports and Leisure.
On Saturday, February 25th, free practice will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. On Sunday, February 26th, training will start in the morning, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and then at 11:10 am, the tests will take place. The competition will continue in the afternoon until 17:30. Admission is free and open to all audiences.
According to the Secretary of Culture, Sports and Leisure, Joel Novaski (Pardal), the municipality of Capão da Canoa received several events throughout the summer season with the aim of promoting sports in the city. “In December 2022, we inaugurated the city’s new Motocross Track so that people could make use of the space, in addition to offering infrastructure for competitions, such as the Motocross Summer Cup”, he says.
For the mayor of Capão da Canoa, Amauri Magnus Germano, the municipality has the infrastructure to host large scale events and competitions, being much sought after by entities throughout the year. “We are investing and qualifying the areas and public spaces destined to sports practices, so that we can bring more and more big championships to Capão da Canoa”, he evaluates.
