The inauguration of the parliamentarians will be the first mission of the secretary of Public Security of the Federal District (DF), Sandro Avelar, since the intervention in force in the Federal District ends tomorrow (31).
In the House, the inauguration is scheduled for 10 am. At 4:30 pm, the session is scheduled to elect the Board of Directors. So far, in the Chamber there is no officially formalized candidacy, this can be done up to one hour before the election, that is, until 3:30 pm, but the announcements have already been made by the parties. Arthur Lira, from the PP, current president is a candidate for re-election. Chico Alencar from PSOL will also run.
In the Senate, the inaugural session is scheduled for 3 pm. Then, election of the Board, to choose the president. With a session convened for the morning of Thursday (2) to choose the other positions on the table. So far, only Senator Eduardo Girão, from Podemos, has made his candidacy official.
The current president, Rodrigo Pacheco, of the PSD, is also a candidate. The third candidate is Rogério Marinho, from the PL.
The term of office of the Board of Directors is two years. On Thursday, at 3:00 pm, the Senate will hold a formal opening session for the Legislature, when the message sent by President Lula will be read, who can go to Congress in person or send the message through the Chief of Staff, Rui Costa .
