This weekend, January 28th and 29th, Torres will host the Copa Gaúcha de Beach Soccer, which will be played in the male and female categories. The competition is part of “O Melhor do Verão” in Torres, which also includes artistic, cultural and leisure activities and much more.
The Cup is organized by the Beach Soccer Confederation of Brazil, the Beach Soccer Federation of Rio Grande do Sul and the Municipality of Torres through the Secretariat of Culture and Sport.
The male category will be contested by 15 teams from 9 municipalities in the state and with the participation of SC Internacional, debuting in beach soccer and will have 4 players from the Brazilian national team, Bruno Xavier, Filipe, Datinha and Raphael Silva.
The Champion of the Copa Gaúcha guarantees a place for the Copa do Brasil 2024 and for the Copa Sul 2023which will be played in Eldorado do Sul, in addition to the vacancy for 8 teams for the final of the Campeonato Gaúcho, which will be played on February 25th and 26th, also in Torres.
Masculine
Games in the men’s category start on Saturday, January 28th, at 08:30 am, the official opening will be at 10:00 am. On Sunday, January 29, the semifinals start at noon and the final is scheduled for 4 pm.
Female
In the women’s category, there will be 6 teams from 5 municipalities seeking the title. The competition gives the Champion a place in the 2024 Copa do Brasil and the 2023 Recopa Gaúcha, which will be played in Eldorado do Sul. The two finalists guarantee a place for the finals of the Campeonato Gaúcho on January 26 in Torres. The games start on Sunday, January 29th, at 08:30 am and the final is scheduled for 15:00 pm.
