A 78-year-old woman, who lives in Rio Grande do Sul, woke up after being presumed dead in a health unit in Cidreira. According to the website BHAZ, a funeral home employee who was organizing the elderly woman’s wake noticed that she was alive when he went to retrieve the body from the morgue.

According to family members, Clotilde Rieck’s death was confirmed after she suffered two cardiac arrests on December 31.
In a note, the City Hall of Cidreira said that it asked for the removal of the doctor who attested to the death of the elderly woman.
“At the same moment, I contacted the director of Post 24h to find out about the facts and determined that all assistance be provided to the patient and her family members and that the doctor be dismissed from her duty immediately”,
says part of the note.
An Occurrence Bulletin was registered, and the case is being investigated by the Civil Police of the city.
According to BHAZ, the coordinator of the health post, Irene Mendes, said that the death certificate was issued, but it ended up not being delivered to the elderly’s relatives because there was no confirmation of death.
Elderly woman is doing well and is “perplexed”
The niece of the elderly Bianca Schneider said that Clotilde was transferred to Santa Casa de Porto Alegre, where she remains hospitalized.
According to Bianca, the elderly woman is breathing normally and “evolving very well”. The family also said that the elderly woman found out about what happened to her this Friday (7) and almost didn’t believe it because she was unconscious. “She is perplexed,” said the niece.
