The Municipal Hostel of Cachoeirinha, under the responsibility of the Municipal Secretariat for Social Inclusion, has a new address: Rua Borges do Canto, 1112, Bairro Drews. The address is provisional (about 3 months), as the house that will actually receive the service is on Rua Isidoro Neves da Fontoura (near Best Point) and is being renovated.
According to the coordinator, Nícolas Silva, the change to this provisional address was due to the structure of the house in Bairro Oliveira, which was quite deteriorated and without adequate ventilation, in addition to not being in a location with easy access to users.
The house that serves those sheltered from this Tuesday has a reception, 4 bedrooms (one of them female), 3 bathrooms, kitchen with microwave, electric oven, stove and refrigerator, dining room and TV room. Offering quality space to all those assisted by the Social Inclusion Secretariat’s services is one of the guidelines given by Mayor José Otávio Germano.
The hostel receives an average of 12 users per day – 6 of them helped with the move. To use the service, it is necessary to comply with certain rules such as respecting the entry and exit times, respecting the local employees, ensuring the maintenance of your individual use material and the structure of the house and not showing any symptoms of illicit substance use and alcoholic.
Those sheltered enter at 7 pm and leave at 7 am. In winter, schedules change due to the intensity of the cold. There they receive dinner at 8 pm and breakfast at 6:30 am. Today, 4 monitors work at the site (2 per night on a 12-hour to 36-hour shift).
