On Tuesday, January 3rd, the inspection work of Procon de São Leopoldo at gas stations continued. In this action, all stations in the city were notified that they must present the proper documentation, for changing prices without justification.
“Procon systematically monitors pricing practices in the city with a regular monthly survey and we are now working on this situation generated by the increase in the price of gasoline without the price policy having been changed by Petrobras or any other justifiable reason. Procon continues in its institutional mission of being attentive in the defense of consumer rights. This simultaneous deliberation by the stations to raise gasoline prices has a very harmful chain effect for the population as a whole as consumers, as it affects the price of all foodstuffs”, highlighted the director of Procon, Neusa Azevedo.
The inspector of Procon de São Leopoldo, Cibeli Prado, told about the relevance of the action. “This action is of great importance because, in addition to being educational, it brings a feeling of greater security to the population in relation to their rights as consumers, and for showing that we, Procon inspectors, are always attentive and acting in the municipality”, said.
The stations will be notified to, within 24 hours, present to Procon justifications, if any, for the increase in gasoline in their establishments.
