Solidarity marked the delivery of gifts collected in the social action “Árvore do Bem”, carried out by Shopping Pelotas. Since November, the initiative has promoted the adoption of letters with requests from the students of the Sociedade Espírita Assistencial Dona Conceição, benefiting 143 children and young people.
One of the highlights of the moment was the group’s exciting meeting with Santa Claus and Noelete, which took place at the Fábrica dos Sonhos space and featured musical performances rehearsed by the little ones from kindergarten and the institution’s reverse shift.
In addition to visiting Santa Claus, the tour featured fun and games at the Fire Jump attractions and at the Adventures at the Bottom of the Sea space, which were open to children free of charge. They received snacks, and had the complete experience when they watched a special screening of the movie “Mundo Estranho” at Cineflix Cinemas.
“It was wonderful, something spectacular and that will stay in the memory of our little ones forever. Some of them had never been to the cinema, they also saw Noel and were very moved, it was magnificent”, highlights the Pedagogical Coordinator of SE Assistencial Dona Conceição, Lizandra Farias Machado.
The “Tree of Good” action promoted a solidarity chain inviting customers and shopkeepers to adopt the letters of students aged 02 to 15 from the beneficiary institution and who live in areas of social vulnerability in Pelotas. The cards were picked up in the “Natal dos Sonhos” promotion space and donations took place between November 23rd and December 11th. Among the items collected are clothes, shoes and toys, such as bicycles, dolls, games, jogging carts, school materials, among others. The teachers and guardians who accompanied the students also participated in the moment of delivering the gifts when they received panettone and chocolates from the enterprise’s administration.
With all expectations surpassed, Michelle Flores, Marketing coordinator at Shopping Pelotas, says that the initiative was a success and managed to rescue what is best in the Christmas spirit: support and love for others. “Since its founding, Shopping Pelotas has had a social commitment to the community, which stands out in every solidarity initiative we promote in partnership with the municipality’s institutions. We appreciate everyone’s support and the participation of our customers and partners who, through the gesture of donating, made the Christmas of 143 children even more special”, she said.
SE Assistencial Dona Conceição
The educational space at SE Assistencial Dona Conceição is recognized for offering social and psychological assistance and a development environment for children and young people from 02 to 15 years old. There are approximately 150 students served by the institution, which offers activities in early childhood education and reverse shift for those over six years of age, with dance, music and computer classes. In addition, the bond with families is strengthened, with social groups, lectures and support for mothers who are heads of household.
