The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) reported that it notified this Monday (13) its border posts, in particular, at airports, for immediate compliance with the decision of the Supreme Court (STF) that determines the collection of proof of vaccination against covid-19 for travelers entering Brazil.
“The decision had immediate effect, without a deadline for adaptation and, therefore, requires the agency to carry out specific assessments, especially in relation to passengers who were already moving or in transit at the time the decision was issued”, informed the Anvisa, by way of note.
The agency highlighted that it carries out punctual assessments for cases in which the traveler may be harmed by the change in rules between the period of departure and arrival in Brazil.
The collection of proof of vaccination against covid-19 is being implemented throughout the day at all airports with arrivals of international flights, “so that passengers have already been questioned regarding the requirement of the document”, completed Anvisa.
The agency also informed that it is awaiting the edition of an inter-ministerial ordinance with greater detail on the rules for the entry of travelers into the country, “so that it can carry out the operational adjustments that may be necessary”.
