The Southern Region of Brazil recorded a reduction in gasoline and diesel prices in the first half of June, according to the latest analysis of the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL). This survey, which consolidates data from transactions at gas stations, highlighted that the only exception was the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where gasoline and ethanol prices remained stable during the period.
Main Report Data
According to IPTL, the average price per liter of gasoline in the South Region closed the first half of June at R$5.96, representing a drop of 0.33% compared to May. Regular diesel was sold at R$5.84, while S-10 diesel was found at R$5.88, with reductions of 0.68% and 0.34%, respectively. Ethanol remained stable, with an average price of R$4.14 per liter.
Regional Highlights
Douglas Pina, General Director of Mobility at Edenred Brasil, highlighted that the South Region had the lowest prices for regular diesel and S-10 in the country. “The S-10 diesel found in Paraná, at R$5.84, was the cheapest among all Brazilian states. Ethanol also proved to be more advantageous for fueling in Paraná and Santa Catarina, in addition to being environmentally interesting because it emits fewer pollutants and contributes to low-carbon mobility,” highlighted Pina.
Methodology do IPTL
The IPTL is a fuel price index based on fueling at 21,000 accredited Edenred Ticket Log stations. The index is highly reliable due to the vast number of vehicles managed by the brand, which totals one million, with an average of eight transactions per second.
