The Municipal Health Department (SMS) of Caxias do Sul is holding a vaccination campaign this Saturday (18/05). In addition to the Basic Health Units (UBSs), there will be vaccination points at Shopping Villagio Caxias and also at Praça Dante Alighieri (this may be suspended depending on weather conditions). There will be a flu vaccine at all points. At UBSs there will also be routine doses to update the booklet.
The Basic Health Units (UBSs) will be open to offer routine vaccinations for children, adolescents and adults between 8am and 5pm. Only the Centenário and Vila Cristina UBSs are not open. The Department of Health advises the population to catch up on vaccines that prevent diseases to which they may have been exposed due to the flooding in recent days, such as tetanus and hepatitis B. The flu vaccine (Influenza) will also be available.
The Municipal Health Department reinforces that the routine vaccination schedule, including vaccines against tetanus, hepatitis b and yellow fever, will only be available to the population that is not up to date with these vaccines. There is no recommendation for indiscriminate vaccination of the entire population.
At the vaccination points in the Villagio Caxias shopping center and in Praça Dante Alighieri (this one with the Red Cross bus) only the flu vaccine will be available, which is authorized for the entire population six months of age or older.
You must bring a personal document and vaccination booklet. For children, it is mandatory to present a passbook.
