The Dance degree course at the University of Caxias do Sul, through Grupo Experimental Cânica 8, celebrates International Dance Day with three artistic performances this Sunday, April 28th. The activity is part of the program developed by the Dance Unit of the Caxias do Sul Department of Culture for the commemorative date, which runs until May 6th, bringing together schools and groups from the city.
“Warming up Dance Week 2024” is the proposal that opens the program, starting at 4pm, in the Sala de Teatro Valentim Lazzarotto room at the Centro Municipal de Cultura Dr. Henrique Ordovás Filho. The show by Cia. Municipal de Dança and invited groups has free entry.
UCS’s participation involves students and teachers, who show the public two solo choreographies and one in a trio, composed by students Júlia Kahler, Cristiano Bacichetto, Bianca Neis, Andressa Formolo and Giulia Hoffmann as interpreter-creators. The works were supervised by professor Sabrina Manzke and result from practical-artistic-pedagogical processes of Dance degree subjects, such as Movement Analysis, Modern Dance and Dance and Somatic Education. Professor Magda Bellini, course coordinator at the University, also worked as a collaborator and rehearser for the projects.
At this event, the UCS Experimental Scenic Group 8 opens its calendar of activities for 2024. Created in 2021, the extension project is open to the participation of students from all courses at the University and the community in general.
