The III Autism on the Agenda Seminar: diagnosis, treatment and inclusion takes place on Tuesday, April 23, from 1:30 pm, in the Auditorium of the Medical Association of Rio Grande do Sul (AMRIGS), in Porto Alegre. The event aims to combat stigma and prejudice, promote access to appropriate services and support, and ensure that the needs and rights of autistic people are respected and met in all aspects of life.
Speakers
Speakers specializing in the topic are confirmed. Renata Viola Vives will bring her experience with the lecture “From observation to action: early risk detection strategies”. Ana Carolina Rodrigues will lead an emotional reflection with “O Diário Azul: A journey through Autism”, sharing experiences about the daily life of an autistic family based on a book she wrote. Dr. Alceu Gomes, psychiatrist and director of the Autistic Disorder Reference Center (CERTA), brings his vast clinical experience in crucial issues related to diagnosis and treatment. Psychologist Tanise Sabino, president of the Parliamentary Front for the Promotion of Mental Health of the Porto Alegre Chamber, will contribute with a political and social perspective relevant to the topic. The Seminar will also be attended by the public servant of Porto Alegre City Hall, Nilson Ventura, and the psychiatrist and president of the RS Psychiatry Association (APRS), Dr. Ana Tietzmann. Finally, Dr. Josemar Marchezan, neuropediatrician, will provide teachings on treatment methods.
The III Autism on the Agenda Seminar is being held by the Medical Association of Rio Grande do Sul (AMRIGS), the Parliamentary Front for the Promotion of Mental Health and the Porto Alegre City Council. Support is provided by the Society of Neurology and Neurosurgery of Rio Grande do Sul (SNNRS) and the Psychiatry Association of Rio Grande do Sul (APRS).
