Caxias do Sul, in a partnership between the Environmental Education sector of the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment (SEMMA) and the company Ambe, started the Ecotec Movement with the installation of three points for the collection of electronic waste. The locations chosen were Caxias do Sul City Hall – Administrative Center, the headquarters of SEMMA and the headquarters of the Municipal Department of Education (SMED).
Discarded items (see list below) can be deposited in the bags from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm. SEMMA’s Environmental Education Manager, Pamela Kuse, says that Ambe will manage electronic waste. The movement arises with the aim of achieving greater efficiency in collections and offering the population, including municipal employees, solutions for disposal.
Through the SEMMA em Ação program, the Ecotec Movement was developed to collect electronic waste.
The head of SEMMA and interim head of Cabinet, João Uez, remembers that the partnership is important, providing another option for the community.
Another space that receives these materials is the Ecopoint of the Caxias Development Company (Codeca), which is located at RSC-453 (Rota do Sol), nº 31.382, in the Centenário neighborhood. Items can be delivered from Mondays to Fridays, from 8am to 5pm; and on Saturdays, from 7am to 1pm.
Schools interested in joining the Ecotec Movement can contact SEMMA by calling (54) 3901.1445, extension 5208 (Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm) or by email at pḱ[email protected].
