Pucci showed its new collection this Thursday, April 4th, in Rome. The historic Palazzo Altemps, near Piazza Navona, was the location chosen for the revival of the Vivara print, which, together with other historic prints, returns in a collection that conveys boldness, femininity and modernity. From a chic urban attitude to looks for days and nights at the beach, the Italian brand’s classic codes were remixed and adjusted to emphasize Pucci’s creative dynamism.
The ripple of water towards the shore, the movements of the sun and moon within a captivating design of organic and geometric shapes, the Pucci energy flows eternally. Since its creation in 1965, the iconic Vivara print has symbolized Emilio Pucci’s connection to the Mediterranean Sea and a remote crescent-shaped island near Capri. Today, for her second show, Camille Miceli presents Vivara with new charm.
New prints define this season – Cigni evokes the curvature of a swan’s neck with graceful, elegant shapes. Bersaglio is a reverberant print that rotates, curls and extends in space. Chiave puts a Pucci twist on classic stripes. Marmo is amplified for a bolder effect, particularly on laser-treated denim, which this season appears in lighter washes.
The Pesci and Iride prints, already seen in other drops, return in impeccable poplin blouses and fluid jersey dresses. In addition to Vivara’s palette of aquatic blue, green and purple, these prints are explored in several color variations: neutral notes of beige, khaki and black, a vivid spectrum of red, purple, pink and blue, poetic pastel tones, and delicious floral tones.
With a hippie chic touch, the silhouettes are perfect for summer and appear in foulard-style silk dresses, urban trench coat sets with embroidered prints, in tops and asymmetrical skirts. From tops with tattoos and cutouts to oversized blazers, bomber jackets, maxi skirts and jumpsuits, the looks are fun, elegant and sophisticated. The beachwear collection explores shapes with cutouts and the application of extra fringes, evoking a fresh mood. The embellishments are developed throughout the sequin embroidery, leather details and chains.
A sandal with a curvy heel inspired by Marmo’s lines and sandals outlined by leather leaves add more irreverence to Pucci’s footwear. Meanwhile, a broad line of bags and accessories take on elegant, structured shapes in leather, with Pucci scarf details and chain straps or top handles. Highlights include the nylon chain bags in the Iride print. The bags and totes with raffia flaps feature the Puccinella signature, now reissued with a tulip bikini in a pastel tone. Cascades of jewels with colored discs, layers of chains and studded leather links complete the Very Vivara collection with an enthusiasm innate to Pucci.
