The 12th Polentaço de Monte Belo do Sul takes place on the 17th, 18th and 19th of May next to the 10th Farmer’s Festival. Two drops of 800 kilos of polenta are planned for the event – one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. The dish is offered free of charge in portions with meat sauce and grated cheese to visitors.
One of Polentaço’s attractions is the Polenta Sculpture Exhibition, considered the only exhibition of its kind in the world. Visitors are invited to appreciate true works of art made by the community, which refer to the history or characteristics of Monte Belense.
Gastronomy
In addition to these attractions, which in themselves are a success among visitors, it is also possible to taste the best of local wine and gastronomy, with the exhibition and sale of products from entrepreneurs in the municipality. Highlight is the gastronomic area, which invites exhibitors to prepare different dishes based on food. Furthermore, over the three days there will be a free artistic-cultural program, on a stage set up around Praça Padre José Ferlin, right in the heart of the city, where the event takes place.
Polentaço is an event held by the Center for Italian Traditions of Monte Belo do Sul since 1996. The brand has even been patented since 2007, valid until 2027.
