The 34th Festa Campeira do Rio Grande do Sul (Fecars), an itinerant event promoted by the Movimento Tradicionalista Gaúcho (MTG), starts this Wednesday (20) and continues until Sunday (24) at the Assis Brasil State Exhibition Park, in Esteio.
The city of Esteio will support the Festival by donating chemical toilets and tents, as will the other city halls of the 12th Traditionalist Region (12th RT): Sapucaia do Sul, Canoas, Nova Santa Rita and São Leopoldo. The equipment will be set up next to the camp space, where competitors and support teams will be located.
On the first day, Fecars is aimed only at organizers and competitors, coming from the 30 traditionalist MTG regions. Competitions open to the public begin on Thursday (21), at 9 am, with the start of the lasso shooting tournaments. Reining and chasque tests, riding and lasso shooting on a standing cow, aimed at children, are also part of the competitions to be held next to the covered court of the Brazilian Association of Crioulo Horse Breeders (ABCCC) until Sunday (24). The official opening ceremony will be on Friday (22), at 6:30 pm.
Family Farming Exhibition
In addition to watching a bit of the Gaucho man’s rural activities, anyone attending the 34th Fecars will be able to buy products at the Family Farming Exhibition, which will have the presence of 15 exhibitors, participate in the Campeiro Seminar and cultural, rural and sports workshops, among other activities. Entry is free and must be done through Gate 7, next to Avenida Celina Kroeff, in Bairro Novo Esteio. Parking for cars costs R$20. For motorbikes, the cost is R$10. The passport, which entitles you to park for four days, regardless of the vehicle, is R$60.
