Sapiranga traders are preparing for Easter 2024 by replenishing stocks with new products for one of the most celebrated dates of the year. Shopkeepers who are members of the Chamber of Shopkeepers of Sapiranga (CDL Sapiranga) are exploring innovative ways to increase sales, including organizing various promotions.
Businesswoman Maristela Weber expresses optimism, but also recognizes the importance of adapting to current market conditions. “We are prepared to sell not only chocolates, but also offer products added to sweets. Furthermore, as a differentiator, we try to offer prices in installments to the consumer, which they generally cannot get when shopping in supermarkets”, he states.
Geisa Schierholt, owner of Lambe Lambe Mix, also shares her expectations. “Our expectation is of a more modest Easter, in which consumers will look for small treats. Furthermore, the proximity of the date to the beginning of the month and far from payment days will influence purchases. Without a doubt, chocolate remains the most sought after item,” she said.
According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, IBGE, sales growth in Brazil is expected to be around 4.5% compared to the same period in 2023. Credit injection and the improvement in the population’s purchasing power are the main fuels for Easter sales.
