The Canoas Popular Carnival will take place on the next two Sundays, March 10th and 17th. The event will feature the participation of eight samba schools, promising lots of entertainment, revelry and energy. Entry will be free on both days. The festivities begin at 5pm and end at 10pm.
Unlike traditional competitive parades, this celebration will only feature displays from the associations in different locations. On the 10th, joy takes over Avenida Itamar de Matos de Maia, located between Maranhão and Pará streets, in the Niterói neighborhood. On the 17th, the party moves to Rua Clóvis Beviláqua, 1770, in front of the Martin Luther King sports complex, located in the Harmonia neighborhood.
The event is organized by the City Hall, through the Department of Culture, with support from the Canoas Samba Schools Association and funding from Pró-Cultura RS.
