This Sunday, March 3rd, the 1st Hopfenfest, the Hop Festival in the Germanic Valley, takes place in Morro Reuter. The event will take place at Oripacha Cervejaria Pomar, located at Rua Duque de Caxias, number 1,150, in the Birckenthal region. The festival will feature the participation of 16 breweries, offering a wide selection of draft beer, varied cuisine, musical performances, games and a space for socializing between beer enthusiasts and producers. An additional highlight will be the planting of hops.
The name “Hopfenfest” translates from German as “Hop Festival”. This event comes at a time of celebration for the beer sector, driven by encouraging data. According to the 2022 Beer Yearbook, published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, there was a growth of 11.6% compared to the previous year, reflecting positively on the local economy and highlighting the dynamics of the craft beer sector.
Brazil is already positioned as the third largest beer market in the world, with 1,729 registered breweries, indicating continued growth potential. Hopfenfest is organized by the Association of Municipalities of the Germanic Valley (Amvag).
