Celebrating three decades of artistic trajectory, the acclaimed musical project “Beatles in Concert” announces two exclusive performances at the historic Theatro São Pedro, in Porto Alegre. Scheduled for April 30th and May 1st, the performances feature the expertise of flutist Ayres Potthoff, guitar virtuoso Daniel Wolff and talented cellist Rodrigo Alquati. This event kicks off the group’s commemorative tour of Brazil, promising a unique experience for music fans.
Originally from Rio Grande do Sul and with a history of global performances, the group pays tribute to the legendary Liverpool quartet through a unique approach, mixing the music of the Beatles with the elegance of concert music. The show in Porto Alegre will be enriched with the participation of singer Vitor Ramil and the renowned Portuguese group Quorum Ballet, the latter presenting an exclusive choreography via video.
The night’s repertoire promises to be exciting, featuring unforgettable instrumental versions of Beatles classics, including “Dear Prudence”, “Let It Be”, “Eleanor Rigby” and many others. Tickets, available for purchase on theatrosaopedro.rs.gov.br website, offer an unmissable opportunity for music enthusiasts, with varying prices and half-price discounts.
In addition to the music, viewers will have the opportunity to delve into the group’s history through an unprecedented documentary by filmmaker Rene Goya, which followed the recording of arrangements at the emblematic Abbey Road Studios, in London. The trio’s visit to the Beatles’ homeland, including a special performance at Liverpool’s Cavern Club, promises to be another highlight of the night.
The legacy of “Beatles in Concert” goes beyond the stage, with his involvement in the educational project “Musicando para o Futuro”. This initiative aims to inspire students and teachers through the art of the Beatles, including the launch of two books – one for children and one with stories for young people and adults. The photographic exhibition at Theatro São Pedro and the availability of books during the shows add another layer of cultural engagement to the event.
Finally, the long-awaited album recorded in Liverpool will soon be released on digital platforms, with physical versions on CD and LP scheduled for the second half of the year. The documentary chronicling the group’s journey will also be made available, providing an intimate look at their connection to the Beatles’ legacy.
