Geraldo Alckmin, José Serra, Marcelo Crivella, Gilberto Kassab, Romero Jucá and Raimundo Colombo are some of the politicians who relied on Marcelo Vitorino’s expertise in their electoral campaigns. With more than 20 years of experience, the specialist in political and electoral marketing has now launched the book Be Alderman. Published by Matrix Editora, the work presents the way to win an election with few resources and even without a team.
The search for councilorship is usually the first step for those who aspire to a political career and also the dream of those who believe in the potential of elected positions to encourage popular participation in important decisions. Securing a seat in a City Council, however, is a task that requires, in addition to commitment, an efficient communication plan, capable of clearly transmitting values, positions, projects and priorities to voters.
In this launch, Vitorino shows what works and what doesn’t in the electoral dispute. Each chapter brings together lessons on what to do to ensure a successful campaign and increase your chances of victory. Basic political and electoral concepts, the phases of the dispute, guidance on building a network of relationships and creating targeted content are some of the topics covered in depth.
Knowing the electorate is essential to know exactly which arguments to use to win over voters, according to the profile and priority audience defined. Therefore, the specialist also describes, based on research, what is going on in the voter’s head and answers questions such as: “What do they look for in a candidate?”, “How do they use the internet?” and “What criteria do you use to define your vote?”
In addition to the robust theory, the specialist presents practical lessons for achieving the position of councilor, with a map of actions and guidelines for setting up the campaign structure, collecting information, building arguments, identifying priority audiences and defining the ideology of the candidacy. There is also an extensive range of examples, very detailed, of candidacies with different political aspects, for inspiration and guidance.
Be a Councilor, which also has the collaboration of political communication and marketing experts, Natália Mendonça and Fabiana Vitorino, is essential reading for those who want to win an election even if alone and/or without many resources. With detailed step-by-step instructions, illustrative examples and practical guidance, this work is aimed at aspiring councilors who wish to create strong and lasting bonds with voters, increasing their chances of success in the electoral contest.
