The Floripa Quilt event, a standout celebration of patchwork and textile art, is about to close registrations for its next edition. Artists and enthusiasts have until February 25th to guarantee their participation. The winners will be announced at the biggest festival in the segment in Santa Catarina, which will take place between May 1st and 4th at the Hotel SESC Cacupé Events Center, in Florianópolis.
This festival, which combines creativity and manual skill, features a program full of courses, workshops and exhibitions, attracting a diverse audience from all over Brazil. The 11th edition of the event focuses on not only celebrating manual art, but also recognizing and rewarding talent in this field. The competitions are divided into several categories, including Rag Dolls, Quilts, Textile Art and the unprecedented Children’s Textile Exhibition.
The creator of Floripa Quilt, Janaína Machado Cordeiro, highlights the importance of the event for the artistic and cultural scene. “Since 2012, we have grown and become a landmark in the field of crafts in Santa Catarina, offering a platform for artists to showcase their work and preserve our cultural heritage,” says Janaína.
Among the competitions, the Quilt Competition is one of the highlights, with categories such as Traditional Quilt, Artistic Quilt and Small Quilt. The Original Rag Doll Competition also stands out, celebrating traditions and stories through unique creations. This year’s edition also features the Textile Art Competition, open to artists who explore different techniques and textile materials in their works.
For young creatives, the first Children’s Textile Exhibition promises to inspire and engage children between 7 and 14 years old in the world of textile art. Registration for all competitions can be done online via the official website www.floripaquilt.com.br. The awards ceremony will take place on the first day of the event, May 1, at 5 pm.
