In an exciting event prior to the 34th National Grape Festival, the Vila Oliva community came together to celebrate and compete in the Colonial Games this Sunday, February 11th. This special gathering, which took place just three days before the official opening ceremony of the festival, was marked by an atmosphere of enthusiasm and tradition.
Twins Alessandra and Lidiana Daneluz, born and raised in the Caxias district of Vila Oliva, experienced an unforgettable moment, competing in several categories. Lidiana took second place in the cheese throw, with an impressive mark of 16 meters and 45 centimeters, while Alessandra took third place, reaching 11 meters and 83 centimeters. “It is an honor for us, who grew up here, to participate and value the events that strengthen the community spirit”, expressed Lidiana.
The competition, accompanied by mayor Adiló Didomenico, his wife Jussara, and important figures from local sport and agriculture, included 13 different modalities. Among them were the making of bigoli, corn threshing, tractor racing, crushing grapes, among other typical activities, reflecting the rich culture and traditions of the region.
For those interested in participating in the Colonial Games, registration is free and can be done by calling (54) 9.9183.8166 and (54) 3207.1133, or directly at the event location.
