Set up in record time, the Field Hospital (HCAMP) of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) to help the Government of the Federal District (GDF) in the fight against dengue is practically completed.
The Air Force Commander, Air Lieutenant Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, followed the assembly, in Ceilândia, this Sunday morning (4/2).
The unit will have 60 beds to serve patients 24 hours a day. In total, 29 military health professionals will be working in the unit, including doctors, nurses, nursing and laboratory technicians.
The Ministry of Defense activated the FAB at the end of last week. According to the Air Force Commander, this Sunday, the unit is practically assembled, demonstrating the efficiency and proactivity of the military.
Record in setting up the Field Hospital
“We even broke a record for HCAMP mobilization with this mission”, revealed the Air Force Commander. This will be the first time that FAB will work to combat dengue, in a structure set up in Ceilândia.
“Our objective is to relieve UPAs in the region, given that today the Federal District accounts for around 20% of dengue cases in the country”, he highlighted.
The hospital will have an emergency center, laboratory for collection and diagnostic tests, structure for monitoring treatment, pediatric and adult hydration space.
Mobilization
The mobilization for the assembly of the structure began on Friday (2/2) with the transport, using FAB’s KC-390 Millennium aircraft, of inputs and personnel to provide medical assistance in the region.
Landing in the federal capital took place at 3am this Saturday (3/2). On the same day, preparation of the site for assembly began. Services are scheduled to begin this Monday (5/2).
