On a cloudy day with intermittent rain, the stadium near the Parish of São Luis da 6ª Légua, in Caxias do Sul, was the scene of great festivities and entertainment. Last Saturday (27/01), the local community and visitors, totaling approximately 600 people, gathered for the 4th phase of the Colonial Games, an integral part of the celebrated National Grape Festival. This event had the notable presence of Queen Lizandra Chinali, together with princesses Eduarda Menezes and Letícia de Carvalho, in addition to the special participation of ambassador Gabriela Boff.
The vice-mayor, Paula Ioris, highlighted the resilience of the residents of Caxias do Sul, emphasizing their ability to face adversity, including climate change, with good humor. “Our community is resilient. We faced the games in the rain, demonstrating that we are not afraid of challenges and welcome fun in any situation”, commented Ioris, jokingly.
Camilly Dias, the young Miss Tourism of Caxias do Sul, just nine years old, expressed her delight when participating in the Colonial Games for the first time. She plans to promote the Games and the National Grape Festival in a state competition in Paraná, representing her hometown.
Among the young participants, Letícia dos Santos Riboldi, 11 years old, from the Pio X neighborhood, stood out in all rounds of the Colonial Games, especially in the children’s sack race, where she became champion. Letícia shared her enthusiasm for the games, revealing her dream of becoming queen of the Grape Festival in the future.
