Pelotas City Hall has started preparations for this year’s Iemanjá and Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes festivities. In an action involving several municipal departments, essential services and infrastructure are being organized for the religious festivities at the beginning of February.
The celebrations will take place in several locations, including Ferry, Porto, Quadrado, Colônia Z3 and Balneário dos Prazeres.
Teams from the Secretariat of Urban Services and Infrastructure (Ssui) have been working on maintaining the celebration sites, carrying out tasks such as cleaning, grass pruning, painting curbs and checking lighting. The Secretariat for City Management and Urban Mobility (SGCMU) is in charge of organizing the space in Balneário dos Prazeres, including the arrangement of stalls in accordance with the entities’ accreditation, having already issued 30 authorizations.
To ensure the safety of participants, agents from the Department of Transport and Traffic (STT) will supervise the closure of streets and squares, in addition to monitoring the crossings used during the events.
