The Queen launches the VL 2500 Frevo sneaker in partnership with Brazilian artist Sancler Graffit, known worldwide for developing customized arts. In a limited edition, the novelty celebrates the musical rhythm of frevo, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, and the connection between frevistas and the brand. Frevo day is celebrated on February 9th.
With the concept “The rhythm doesn’t stop”, the VL 2500 Frevo respects the VL silhouette, which was adopted decades ago by Frevistas, as it is an extremely light, flexible, durable shoe with excellent grip, due to the rubber sole. The VL 2500 is the favorite shoe for dancers as it allows them to perform all the frevo movements and steps with great flexibility and safety.
The exclusive launch received exclusive customization from Sancler Graffit, portraying Brazilianness, whether in elements inspired by frevo, the most famous street dance of Carnival, with a print that conveys the joy so present in the rhythm. The VL 2500 Frevo comes in stylish leather, in a unisex version, in white and numbered 34 or 44, for R$ 189.99.
“The Queen has a long-standing relationship with the frevistas, as she is at the feet of thousands of passistas with the VL 2500 model, in a legitimate and organic way. The partnership with Sancler Graffit pays homage to this cultural manifestation known throughout the country. We believe it will be a success”, celebrates Sylvio Teixeira, CEO of BR Sports, controller of the Rainha brand, highlighting the proximity to Carnival. “Carnival will soon begin inviting Brazilians to celebrate the importance of this musical rhythm for Brazilian culture”, he adds.
Visual artist Sancler Graffit talks about the collection’s creative process. “Rainha Frevo captures the frenetic, desynchronized, slow and fast rhythm of Brazilian life, just like frevo. The model is a tribute to the genuinely Brazilian brand that was chosen to be part of the frevo culture,” he says.
