Shopping Pelotas promotes the Firefighter Civil Kids action, which since last week has involved children in a holiday atmosphere. Organized by Projeta Sul, the attraction continues on the 27th and 28th of January, and also on the 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th of February, on Saturdays from 10am to 8pm and Sundays from 2pm to 8pm. The workshops take place in the space next to the Paquetá Calçados store and are recommended for children aged 3 to 14.
The activities are free and teach in a practical way about first aid, fire prevention, respect for the environment and firefighter techniques with rescues and emergency simulations. The Projeta Sul initiative is a way of showing children from an early age the importance of knowing how to act in situations such as drowning, choking and even fires. This way, they can pass on what they learn to adults, in addition to growing more aware and prepared.
The workshops work interactively with a circuit. Throughout the activity, videos are shown, conversations are promoted, rescue techniques and the use of dolls to teach how to proceed in a risky situation, and is also a way of encouraging safe adventure through educational actions. Upon completing the circuit, each child receives a Kids Civil Firefighter certificate.
