Of the 1,718 vacancies available, 746 are for broad competition (AC) and 972 vacancies are reserved for Affirmative Action. In total, there are eight quotas intended exclusively for students who completed high school in a public school. The most significant changes in relation to the last edition are: the decrease in per capita income for LB modalities, from 1.5 minimum wage per person to 1.0 minimum wage; and the inclusion of a quota for self-declared quilombolas, with verification panels to prove this modality.
The modalities for reservation quotas for Affirmative Action places at UFRGS are:
a) LB_EP modality (formerly L1) – candidate who completed high school at a public school with gross monthly family income equal to or less than 1.0 national minimum wage per capita;
b) LB_PPI modality (formerly L2) – candidate who completed high school at a public school with monthly gross family income equal to or less than 1.0 national minimum wage per capita, self-declared black, mixed race or indigenous;
c) LB_PCD modality (formerly L9) – candidate who completed high school at a public school with a gross monthly family income equal to or less than 1.0 national minimum wage per capita who is a person with a disability;
d) LB_Q modality – candidate who completed high school at a public school with gross monthly family income equal to or less than 1.0 national minimum wage per capita, self-declared quilombola;
e) LI_EP modality (formerly L3/L5) – candidate who completed high school at a public school, regardless of family income;
f) LI_PPI modality (formerly L4/L6) – candidate who completed high school at a public school, regardless of family income, self-declared black, mixed race or indigenous;
g) LI_PCD modality (formerly L13) – candidate who completed high school at a public school, regardless of family income, who is a person with a disability;
h) LI_Q modality – candidate who completed high school at a public school, regardless of family income, self-declared quilombola.
Before registering for a specific modality of affirmative action, the candidate must check the requirements of this quota in the Notice, as it will not be possible to change this modality later, and failure to verify this will result in the loss of the vacancy.
