São Paulo, January 2024 – The Martius-Staden Institute, a non-profit entity maintained by the Visconde de Porto Seguro Foundation, launched the hotsite German agenda in Brazil to begin the celebration of the bicentenary of the immigration of German-speaking peoples to Brazil. The objective is to publicize as many events as possible promoted by national and international institutions throughout 2024.
The hotsite was created in partnership with German diplomatic representations in Brazil and, in addition to the events calendar, contains videos, exhibitions, publications, links to partner institutions and other special content. On the website, a digital version of a tourist map of the city of São Paulo was also made available with attractions that represent all the contributions made by German speakers to the capital of São Paulo.
“It is a great joy for the Institute to have been chosen as one of the main partners of the German diplomatic representations in Brazil to celebrate such an important year. Our objective is to involve the entire Brazilian society and not just German descendants in the most diverse celebrations that will take place in various regions of our country and raise awareness about the importance of the arrival of German-speaking peoples for the development of Brazil”, says Mauritius von Dubnitz, Director of the Martius-Staden Institute.
